dancing_moon: To Victory! Daleks can win the war (victory!)
Okay, the fightscenes and retro video game stuff? Really cool, mhmm. And it was great to see a movie made from a comic book that (according to the Scott Pilgrim readers in our group) was faithful and kept so many nerdy injokes.

But I'm really glad I didn't pay for this movie, because then I would probably have been disappointed ^^; Sorry, but the whole "guy fights for girl who stands there staring in adoration in vague hipster-angst" really isn't my thing. There were also several points where my embarassment squick got so triggered (mostly by Scott himself) that I had to fight to keep my eyes open. And, y'know, the whole pretty sucky race/gender thing which I'm sure someone else has said better than I did

But! Free movie = better movie, yes? And the video game-y gimmicks were super cute and well done, the fight scenes pretty awesome and the whole "and how many people will wake up in gay roommates bed this time?" deadpan and funny.

Not to mention a surprisingly good soundtrack.

But some of those scenes, oh man, trainwrecks galore... Couldn't we have replaced them with more DDR/Mortal Combat fighting? That looked good

The Land of Painted CavesDude, get real!! Jean M Auel is releasing another part of the Earth's Children series: The Land of Painted Caves.

Yep, that's the Clane of the Cavebear books. Exactly. The huge stone age stories, complete with mammoth smut and flowery vaginas and pre-historic root recepies. Wonder of Ayla will invent the bicycle this time? Or maybe she'll go straight to the rocket ships

...what?

Yes, of course I have to read the bloody book. I've read every one of those things (including Shelters of Stone where Nothing Whatsoever Happens during the 895-pages it consists of). Though I'll wait until it is library-able.

Still... a new Auel. Could've sworn she was dead, or at least seriously retired by now
dancing_moon: Farin Urlaub is shot by Lara Croft. No, really (Farin U)
This weekend, I'll visit an anime con in Denmark for the first time! Raison d'être has been invited to J-popcon to arrange the karaoke. So me, Miko-chan (whom I haven't seen for ages ♥), Kinopio and Yuna will go there and arrange the late night karaoke~
Yes, for the first time, we're to try having karaoke pretty much throughout the night! It'll be really interesting and probably seriously exhausting. However, I much prefer it to such crazy notions as that we are to open the karaoke room at 8 o'clock in the morning, which one con managment told us (wtf? Nobody sings karaoke before 9.30 at the earliest)

Otherwise, we have a lot of free time during the day... So I'll try and check out Köpenhamn a bit. Of course also investigate the con itself. See what they have there and if any ideas are worth being inspired by! ^^

Have also almost finished several new Hetalia songs, and one Vocaloid(!)

Ehm, which also comes from a Hetalia fanvid but whatever... They released a lot of good songs while I was out of the fandom, so that's been really fun to come back to. And now that I live on my own again, and have internet, I can sit in my apartment and sing along (badly) while I code songs, hehee

Um. And I might buy a signed postcard or something by Humon...

ETA: Huh. It's not that bad an idea to actually have a link to the Raison d'être karaoke list in my sidebar, is it? Thought so.
