Ohh, interesting!

dancing_moonI'm glad I watched the second half of the lizard episodes of Doctor Who! The main plot was still one of the least interesting I've seen, but important stuff happened
The lizard people bored me and the plot felt silly. So I'll pretty much ignore that part of the episodes.
I'm wavering back and forth on how I like Amy. She was a totally cool kid and in the beginning of the season, she got some very nice scenes. But then, there's been several episodes where she's extremely flat. Hard to get a grasp on, I read someone saying, and I agree. The actor doesn't exactly make it easy to see what makes her tick. There are times when I really like her but more and more, she just fades away into a plot-device. Which is really a shame, I think. I can't say I thought that happened to any of the other companions - even when Rose was annoyingly clingy and Martha all boring unrequited love-ish, they had presence. And Donna elbowed in and demanded to be seen and you'd better believe it.
And now Rory is erased from time. First, I had hoped that the shot of the two of them together in the beginning was a hint that maybe he wasn't completely gone - or at least that we the audience should think there was a chance that he'd come back in the finale of the series. Then they wrecked that, so now I don't really know what the point was... Show the audience that Rory is really, really dead? Then fool us? Or just show us that things can be changed? Who knows
He was interesting and I think it's a shame that the doctor so rarely has multiple companions who last for a while and don't both struggle for his affections. Hasn't been any since Rose and Jack, has there? I mean, Mickey and Rose had their troubles and the rest of the extra companions just drop off... It's getting to be a bit too similar, the dynamic with the doctor and one (often infatuated) woman. Also, Rory was funny. Would have liked to see him and Amy interact more in a non-life-threatening situation where they actually acted a bit fond of each other. If only they could've gone to Rio :/
