Hi! Always fun to talk meta, especially once I've found other people to discuss it with ^_^

Sorry, I can't help you much there since I'm judging by volume 1 + a few scans from scans_daily years ago. That rec, and all other discussion I've seen, says that there'll be more political and personal intrigue coming which is what I am looking forward to.

And the land is made-up, though influenced by China. So I don't think one needs RL historical background to understand it

I sincerely hope it doesn't go the rape-rape-rape routine of Fushigi Yuugi, but I have no idea. Maybe ask at the Saiunkoku community here on DW?
